Ryshell Hedger

I’m excited to be launching my art therapy business and overflowing with joy to be able to share my skills in the new Wild Learning Creative Centre!

I’m starting out, leading a weekly group for adults centred around stress relief and self empowerment. Each group is inspired by an open studio model with lots of free creative expression in a super supportive environment.

My training is in Transpersonal art therapy; a holistic strengths based therapy combining art and counselling. I invite the mind, body, heart and spirit to create and express in a way that is therapeutic and supported.

My art therapy groups and individual sessions require no artistic skill and have a focus on expression, feeling witnessed and artist as healer.

I facilitate therapeutic drawing, painting, sculpture, collage, image technique and story activities. Relaxation and mindfulness activities are also woven in.

The creative activities are used to explore emotion, navigate experiences, gain new perspective, make meaning, feel empowered and build confidence

Wild Learning acknowledges the Wonnarua people as the traditional custodians of the land we gather on.  We give our respect to Elders and Children, past present and future.   We also acknowledge the Awabakal people to the east and the Darkinjung people to the south, and all other Aboriginal peoples who now live within our community.

Wild Learning is a space of kindness and respect. We warmly welcome people with disability, the LGBTIAQ community, people from all lands, religions and cultures and people with all sorts of life stories. When you attend our activities we ask that you treat all members of our Wild Learning community, our building, facilities and our neighbours with kindness, respect and help us create a space that is safe for everyone.
