Nicky is an international yoga, voice and meditation teacher based in the Hunter Valley.
She supports people to find a deeper sense of meaning and wellbeing through yoga, meditation, coaching, and deep relaxation.
Her passion is in guiding people to enjoy their own experience of yoga by listening to their bodies, deepening their knowledge and self-trust whilst approaching their practice with kindness and curiosity.
Self-awareness and mindfulness are part of the practice and Nicky encourages everyone to cultivate and live these practices. This includes finding ways to self-regulate emotionally, build strength, balance and flexibility physically and feel a deeper sense of purpose and connection.
Nicky began studying and practicing yoga 30 years ago whilst working as an actor in the UK. Over the past 15 years, she has taught yoga in London, Sydney and Greece in Yoga studios, health spas, businesses and privately. She has also taught at Rehabilitation Centers and co-set up a Not for Profit Art Gallery and Yoga space in Sydney, integrating the arts, yoga and mental health.
Her study and teaching style has deepened and evolved over this time, integrating many forms of yoga and meditation, she teaches a steady, flowing form of Hatha Yoga, with breath work, meditation and relaxation, adapting the class to the participants whilst encouraging everyone to work at their own pace to experience yoga as a path to healing and complete wellbeing.
Besides yoga, she loves poetry, spoken word, theatre, writing, tree watching and creative expression in all its different forms! She recently hosted a spoken word panel ‘Conscious Rhyme’ about the Arts and Social Justice for Sydney Fringe.
She loves living in the Hunter Valley with her partner, being in nature and listening out for the resident Lyrebirds, Wombats and Wallabies.
