Wild Learning is more than a building to hire for your classes.
I work hard to provide the extra supports that help make self employed teaching enjoyable, rewarding and successful.
Wild Learning is a better way to teach, as you are free to be independent and do your thing your way, and we also offer:
-
A supportive teaching artist community - so you never feel like a lonely island! There are always people to chat to, share ideas, collaborate with or get assistance and advice if you want - both at Wild Learning and in our online discussion groups.
-
Inclusion on our timetable and in our marketing system to help promote your activity
-
Free monthly training and resources to help you build your teaching business
-
Opportunity to participate in community events and special events to help grow your network
Pricing
Depending on whether you want a regular booking or a casual hall we have different package options available - the more you book the cheaper it gets!
I have set our pricing to be in the middle of what is available locally - but we are the only space that offers teacher support, marketing assistance and a student community.
As a guide:
- our Hall is $22 for hour, $20 for additional hours
- our gallery room and studio space are $10 per hour, $9 for additional hours
What you need if you want to work with us
-
You need to be set up as your own business - we do not hire anyone as an employee or staff. Your students will pay you to attend your classes
-
Need your own public liability insurance
-
You should be suitably qualified or experienced in your subject - and a good idea of how to teach your target audience
-
You must be willing to do the advertising, marketing and publicity to attract your own students to enroll in your class. We do not hand you a group of students to teach and we do not fill your class for you - however there is lots of support and advice available to help you find your own best methods
-
You must be willing to work positively and inclusively - this means being open, accepting and supportive of all teachers, students and community members including those who have disability, mental illness, are from diverse cultural, religious and language backgrounds, people who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer or other identities (glbtqi) as well as being willing to work with students at all stages of their learning journey. Our first and most important rule is that we act, speak and work with kindness at Wild Learning!
-
The subject areas we currently host are:
-
Arts & Creative
-
Music & performing arts
-
Movement & fitness
-

If you think this the kind of space you would like to work from, and you are interested in joining our team of teaching artists contact Emmie to discuss your idea and arrange a time to visit Wild Learning.
