About the Event
A workshop for people wanting to get started with the basic skills to sew your own clothing.
This workshop will cover the basics of dressmaking + machine sewing and get you started on a creative adventure of designing and making your own clothing
You will learn to adapt a simple pattern to fit your body perfectly, how to cut your material and how to sew the pieces together using a range of techniques to complete your piece!
We recommend you bring your own fabric.
(a piece of cotton or cotton blend, not stretchy, not knitted, not satin or silky. Measure from your waist to the floor, your piece of fabric should be twice this length. )
You can also recycle a clean, ironed bedsheet or doona cover in a print you like!
You will need to bring:
- your sewing machine with foot pedal and power cord - and bobbin
- a pair of fabric scissors and your basic kit (pins, a measuring tape etc)

Suitable for- Learners with very basic sewing skills, through to quilters and sewers wanting to make the leap across to sewing clothing.
Cost - $60 per person
Please bring: Your sewing machine, pedal and cord - plus a basic sewing kit (bobbins, pins and scissors etc)
