About the Event

A fortnightly home school art group!

This term there will be five lessons, each focused on a different artist who made iconic paintings in a different time period. These are some of the big names and works that are instantly recognisable - let's find out more about the people and stories behind the legends!

Tuesday 12th Feb: Vincent Van Gogh

Tuesday 26th Feb: Pablo Picasso

Tuesday 12th March: Georgia O'Keeffe

Tuesday 26th March: Wassily Kandinsky

Tuesday 9th April: Frida Kahlo

During class we will talk about the artists as a person and what their life might have been like

Then we will examine one/some of their most famous artworks and learn to view them with an 'artists eye' and expand our language when discussing art. We will also talk about how the artwork was made.

Then we will put on our aprons and get creative as we make our own interpretation of the artwork!

Each lesson you will need to bring:

- Some interesting facts about the artist to share during discussion time

- An apron to protect your clothing during art making

- Fruit for morning tea

Students should attend class with a supporting adult (there is no cost for adults to participate)
