About the Event

A creative class for young artists looking for a very special experience - Join award winning local artist Michèle Heibel in celebrating the magical qualities of the silhouette!

Michèle is a local artist who's breathtakingly beautiful work has won many many awards and her unique style is something very special indeed!

Michèle has agreed to run an amazing school holiday class for Wild Learning especially for young people who are interested in fine art and would love the opportunity to learn how to create art works using exquisite silhouette!

In this class you will create your very own fairy tale scene inspired by the classic shadow theatre films of Lotte Reininger using layers of hand cut paper.

Young people will be invited to design and make a stunning art work inspired by their favourite fairly tale story scene. Michèle will guide students through the steps in planning the composition of a silhouette, drawing, painting and cutting out the individual layers and assembling and framing the completed piece.

This class will be taught in a very small group to create a magical learning experience and will conclude with a lovely fancy morning tea plus all art making materials will be provided. Students will need to bring along a picture frame of their choice.

Suitable for:

  • young people aged 10 - 15 who have an interest in art and enjoy concentration on fine detailed projects
