Calm skills for the silly season
Time & Location
About the Event
This is a very special relaxation class where you will learn techniques you can use anytime the world around you feels overwhelming and you want to hit pause and catch your breath.
December can be a month of magic and excitement- but it can also be a month of juggling a hectic schedule, difficult family or social situations, financial pressure and massive to-do lists.
We can't make traffic and the check out lines in the shops disappear, and we can't transform difficult relatives and co-workers into polite, helpful allies - but we CAN show you ways to reduce your stress so that in those tough moments you can find solutions that work for you.
This is a safe, supportive and inclusive class taught by Emmie Hallett. You will not be asked to share any personal stories or discuss any difficulties -the focus will be on learning helpful strategies and not unpacking the things that cause drama.
The class will involve:
- a guided relaxation session where everyone will sit in a comfy chair, sip a cup of tea, listen and indulge in a bit of me-time
- learn some simple but effective techniques that use your breath, your thoughts and things you have around you (like a radio, a pen, a glass of water) to help you find calm quickly when you need it.
All materials are provided and tea, coffee and cake is served on arrival
This class is taught by Emmie Hallett, Wild Learning founder . Emmie has a background in social and community work, arts and music education and is obsessed with craft that uses reclaimed materials!
This class is helpful for people who experience stress and worry, but is not suitable for people in crisis or those who are recovering from trauma.
