Art making & well being for young people
Time & Location
About the Event
A creative art workshop for young people aged 10-15 to enjoy together with their adult.
This workshop is an invitation to get creative, have fun and spend meaningful time together talking about self worth and how we connect with the world around us.
Young people and their adults (parent, carer, guardian or chosen significant adult) will work side by side on two fabulous projects - decorative masks and medicine bags
This is not a class about technical art making skills, it is about opening up your creativity and enjoying a playful, curious and expressive approach to using art materials as a tool for discovering and sharing ideas and feelings.
As we work on our creative projects, Holistic Art Therapy student Ryshell will guide us through gentle conversations that build up our self confidence, help us feel positive about who we are so we can get clearer about our inner resources for dealing with life's tough stuff.
Because young people and adults will be working side by side it is a wonderful opportunity to nourish the self esteem of our young people in a positive, safe and creative space - and to learn some ways to open important conversations at home.
- An apron to protect your clothing - or wear clothes suitable for painting in
- A packed lunch (there are cafes and shops nearby but please arrange a lunch order before the class so you have enough time to eat and relax during the break)
