Do you feel a creative craving, but don't even know where to begin?
Art Basics is a one day creative workshop that will introduce you to THREE fun ways to make art and explain common materials, show you step by step techniques and provide loads of helpful advice to get you started.
This is a plain language class- so there is no jargon or pressure to be an amazing artist - this is a safe space to come and LEARN and ask questions!
In this first art basics workshop we will cover:
1. Oil pastels - Make a WILD abstract artwork that is fast, free, flowing and so much fun and discover why oil pastels are so addictive to work with!
2. Watercolour paints - learn the basic techniques for using water colour paint while making an exquisite artwork with rows of glowing gem stone inspired colour
3. Sketching- working with a range of pencils and pens, learn some of the basic rules for drawing what you see
A delicious and generous morning and afternoon tea of fresh local fruit and fancy cakes is provided.
There is a 45 minute break for lunch and we suggest you bring a sandwich or visit the cafe next door :)
All art materials are provided - Please bring an apron to protect your clothing and three interesting shaped objects to use in a display for the sketching activity

Suitable for: this is a beginners class for people over 16 years old
